What was observed on 11 October
Social Media Today’s 7 October report and the Times of India’s 8 October report describe carousel tools for combining photos, videos and text. This is evidence of a reported development, not proof that one format is trending for every Instagram user.
Tools and rollout qualifications
The reports describe layouts, text styles and overlays. Both describe iOS availability and Android support still forthcoming at their reporting time. We did not verify an Android rollout change on 11 October, so availability should be checked in the app.
Original source and retrieval limit
Social Media Today links the Instagram announcement below. Its direct retrieval returned a rate-limit error during this review. We attribute the feature description to the opened reports and do not claim to have measured the post’s engagement or independently inspected its full carousel.
An original format to try
Create a short carousel explaining one idea: a question on slide one, a sourced answer on slide two, an example on slide three and a source reference on slide four. This is an editorial suggestion, not a claim about the algorithm. Use your own assets or licensed images.
Popularity is a separate question
No nationwide ranking, view count or reach estimate is asserted. Personalised recommendations can differ between accounts. A tool announcement may be useful to creators even when broad popularity has not been established.
