A practical guide to studying GK

Build a habit you can repeat, instead of trying to memorise every fact at once.

Start with the framework below, then use the linked cluster articles for worked examples and sources.

Choose a small revision target

Pick one subject, such as constitutional institutions or percentage calculations. Read one explainer and write down its main idea in a sentence. A clear target makes it easier to know whether the session helped.

Turn the page into questions

Close the article and ask yourself what the central fact means. Write a direct question and one application question. For the Election Commission, you might ask which article is associated with its authority. For percentages, change the numbers in the worked example.

Keep a short error list

Record answers you missed and why. Distinguish a forgotten fact from a misunderstood concept. Revisit the explanation where needed, then try answering again without notes. A revision list should guide the next session rather than become another pile of reading.

Use official exam notices for exam requirements

General explainers support learning, but they cannot replace an official syllabus or recruitment notice. Before preparing for a specific examination, check the conducting body’s current notice for subjects, eligibility, dates and the actual pattern. We do not label our articles as official exam material.
